The Fat Cat is the next step up from a Pack Cat. It weighs 42 lbs. with the frame, and is a bit wider, at 42 inches, because of the larger tube diameters. The larger tubes give the boat more maneuverability, stability, and cargo capacity. This boat can be used by people weighing over 300 lbs., and can still carry all of the gear you would need for a weeklong trip. The Cutthroat and Fat Cats have the same tube diameters. They can use each other's frame. The Fat Cat packs down into a slightly larger package than a Pack Cat, making it ideal for airline travel as well. After 2002 our models we have included a light weight rear cargo sling that snaps into place.
