Jack,
I wanted to thank you for spending time in April discussing building an inflatable canoe. I ultimately ended up purchasing the Fat Pack Cat I figured it was better to buy the boat that would work 98% of the time rather than buy a boat for the rare occasion I would be paddling tandem. The Fat Pack Cat works really well in the east coast, the narrow frame allows it to go where a full size raft or cat would get stuck. Despite being narrow it has excellent stability, I can fish and drop over a lot of ledges sideways and just lean upriver allowing me to fish in a lot of productive areas that my friends miss because they are paddling. As many rivers in North Carolina are pretty shallow I love being able to stop and and stand in the river and start casting away. The versatility to use the boat just for paddling more technical water, fishing and extended river expeditions is awesome.
I seldom compliment companies as I have high expectations, I reviewed products from Soar and Aire and ultimately decided on the Fat Pack Cat and couldn't be happier. I also wanted to say that when I placed my order the gentleman I spoke with was very helpful. So my number one kudos goes to JPW's excellent customer service. Many companies make wonderful products, but I ultimately chose JPW for it's customer service, being made in America and excellent boat.
Sincerely,
Bill Reap
Note from Jack:
We still want to build an inflatable canoe with drop stitch. We came close last year, but the darn thing would have been too expensive. Still working on it.
